SFF-RTI: an active multi-light approach to shape from focus

چکیده
Abstract In this paper, we propose a methodology for the fusion of shape from focus and reflectance transformation imaging. This two seemingly disparate methods computational imaging is proposed with purpose leveraging their strengths in understanding overall surface structure (low-frequency detail) texture/micro-geometry (high-frequency detail), respectively. achieved by our new proposal integration varying light images at different distances. We compare three integration: mean gradient response, maximum full vector (FVG). The validation tested was conducted using measure window sizes multi-light to provide clear demonstration effectiveness method. FVG determined higher-quality recovery complex object trade-off increasing scope image acquisition.

Multi - Scale Active Shape
A multi-scale shape description tool based on active contour models has been developed, allowing to regularize and describe shape changes across scales. The internal energy of this spline-based model depends on analytic shape forces, and the external energy incorporates geometric image features like the image gradient and isophote curvature. Results of applying this technique to artiicial image...
متن کاملMulti-Shape - Hierarchical Active Shape Models
Active Shape Models (ASMs) have become one of the most widespread segmentation paradigms since their inception in the early nineties. However, their capability to capture and model the shapes’ variability is highly conditioned by the training set used. Trying to overcome this limitation, this paper presents a new hierarchical formulation of classical ASMs. Using the wavelet transform, a new com...
متن کاملShape from Focus
Rough surfaces pose a challenging shape extraction problem. Images of rough surfaces are often characterized by high frequency intensity variations, and it is difficult to perceive the shapes of these surfaces from their images. The shape-from-focur method described in this paper uses different focus levels to obtain a sequence of object images. The sum-modified-Laplacian (SML) operator is deve...
متن کاملShape from Focus/Defocus
Imaging systems, such as eyes or video-cameras, produce a representation of the world through a map from the three-dimensional environment onto a two-dimensional one. If we are interested in interaction with the surrounding world, a necessary condition is to retrieve the spatial information lost in the imaging process. In order to do that, one can, for example, rely on prior assumptions on the ...
